Avebury Stone Circle is one of the largest stone circles in Europe.  The village of Avebury partially exists within this stone circle.

It is probably the second most popular stone circle in the British Isles behind Stonehenge. Some of the old stones are now missing and have been replaced by stone pillars which are very distinct from the proper stones.

This site is wonderful and the landscape surrounding it is also fantastic and has many other ancient features nearby.

This site is a must see.

We have tried again to give you a different aspects by showing stones together, on their own and also in a couple of the photos tried to show you how big the surrounding ditch is.
