The above pictures show Nymphsfield Long Barrow which was built around 5000 years ago.  The tomb originally had a slab roof and would have been covered by earth.

There were burials at this site.  Apparently around 17 individuals were found here these were both adult and children. 

Even though this site is not complete it does give you a good idea of how the better preserved barrows look on the inside.  It is well worth visiting.  You can also take in the view of the more complete barrow at Uley which is just down the road from this one.
