Overton Hill Round Barrows:  This is the site of various round barrows from the early Bronze Age.  In the 19th Century William Cunnington and Sir Richard Colt-Hoare excavated some of these barrows.  Both cremations and burials have been found at this site.  In the 10th Century this site was known to be an ancient cemetary called Seofan Beorgas (Seven Barrows).

Some of the original barrows no longer exist as they have been excavated.  There are also various other barrows around the area and also remnants of Roman Britain.
